Trump Promises UFO File Release, Says Pilots Witnessed “Things You Wouldn’t Believe”

Trump Vows Declassification of UFO Records After Pilots Report Extraordinary Sightings
President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday, April 29, that his administration is preparing to release declassified government files on unidentified flying objects, citing firsthand accounts from military and civilian pilots who described encounters they could not explain.
“I think we’re going to be releasing as much as we can in the near future,” Trump said from the White House. “They said they saw things you wouldn’t believe — and you’re gonna be reading about it.”
Trump offered no specific timeline for the disclosure, nor did he identify which agencies hold the records or what classification levels are involved. The scope and content of any planned release remain unclear.
Decades of Classified Material
The United States government has maintained classified files on UFO — now formally referred to by the Pentagon as Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) — for decades. Congressional pressure and a series of partial disclosures in recent years have intensified public and legislative demands for full transparency.
Trump suggested the forthcoming material would generate significant public interest. “We’re going to be releasing a lot of things from what we have,” he said, “and I think some of it’s going to be VERY interesting to people.”
Artemis 2 Crew Welcomed to the Oval Office
The UFO remarks came during a broader White House media briefing that also featured the crew of NASA’s Artemis 2 mission. Astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, and Christina Koch, along with Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen, were received by the President in the Oval Office.
The Artemis 2 mission, which launched on April 1 and returned on April 10, carried the crew on a trajectory around the Moon and back — travelling farther from Earth than any humans in history, surpassing the record set by Apollo 13 in 1970.
“It takes people like this to make our country great,” Trump said of the crew. “They have unbelievable courage.”
