King Charles and Queen Camilla conclude U.S. state visit in New York City
King Charles III and Queen Camilla spent the final full day of their state visit to the United States in New York City on Thursday, moving through a packed schedule that included a memorial tribute, community engagements, and a charity celebration at one of Manhattan’s most iconic venues.
9/11 Memorial Visit
The royal couple began the day downtown, paying their respects at the National September 11 Memorial. The visit marked a solemn opening to the day’s engagements before the pair separated for individual afternoon appearances.
Separate Afternoon Engagements
Queen Camilla visited the New York Public Library, where she read Winnie the Pooh to a group of children as part of her ongoing advocacy for child literacy.
King Charles travelled to Harlem to visit a local community organisation, where he also fed chickens during the visit.
King’s Trust 50th Anniversary Gala
The couple reunited in the evening at the Rockefeller Center to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the King’s Trust, the charitable organisation founded by Charles. Global ambassador Lionel Richie addressed the event, marking the close of the three-day state visit.
